How Cold Showers Could Change Your Life

“Eat that frog first thing in the morning!”

Ever heard of this phrase? You probably would have if you ever searched on the internet for being more productive. What Mark Twain really meant that you should do the task first thing in the morning which you've least motivation to do, the task which you probably think will likely end up being procrastinated.

Generally, people plan their day to start things easy and gradually pick the flow so that they can be at their optimal energy level before starting the most energy consuming for the day.
This approach works fairly well if you can actually schedule your day and work truthfully according to it but most of us really have a hard time following our time table. If you can easily follow it then kudos to you, you’re are already above the majority of the population but there’s still one thing that you need to master, you need to learn to accommodate with unanticipated changes in schedule because in real life things don’t go much as actually planned and sometimes they’re completely different from how we picture them to be.

Now What?

The title may seem out of context but taking cold showers can actually help you in tremendous ways to overcome the above-stated problems. Just to say a few it helps in increasing immunity, improves blood circulation and professional athletes use it all the time to reduce muscle soreness, also it improves overall mental health by increasing alertness and general dopamine levels ( happiness causing hormones ).

How?

Our bodies inherently hate the idea of cold showers, can you find anyone who would love to take a cold shower on a winter morning? Hell no.

The idea seems more horrifying than soothing. Looking at physical aspects, the deep breathing in response to our body’s shock helps us keep warm, as it increases our overall oxygen intake. Thus, our heart rate will also increase, releasing a rush of blood through our entire body. This gives us a natural dose of energy for the day.

On the other hand psychological aspects are equally beneficial. It's been a proven fact that the majority of people who don't succeed is not because they failed but they never even started. This is because two main reasons, first those who procrastinate it and others who think they won't be able to do it, i.e they're limited by their own boundaries set by them.

But a habit of early morning cold showers would mould your brain to willingly do things which you’ve been wanting to do but feel restricted because in doing so you would work against your brain resistance. How you may ask? When you're standing in front of that cold water your brain literally shouts to back off and if you can make a habit to go against it everyday, you would be  one more step closer to break the boundaries that are limiting yourself.
